Make It Fair is a 3-year project led by Traidcraft Exchange.
The project aims to raise awareness of trade issues, and encourage people to take action in support of trade and development. The project will focus on three products - tea, cotton and sugar - to show how trade impacts on the well-being of producers.
Traidcraft Exchange is the UK's only development charity specialising in making trade work for the poor. We work with small scale producers in developing countries to improve their lives through successfully trading the products they grow and make. An important part of our work is to influence international trade rules and practices, working with government, businesses and institutions to help them understand and improve the impact they have on the world's poor.
The Women's Institute is the largest voluntary organisation for women in the UK, with 205,000 members. We play a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.
The World Development Movement (WDM) campaigns for a world without poverty and injustice. We work in solidarity with activists around the world to tackle the causes of poverty. We research and promote positive alternatives which put the rights of poor communities before the interests of big business.
