Make It Fair is a three-year project led by Traidcraft Exchange.

The project aims to raise awareness of trade issues, and encourage people to take action in support of trade and development. The project will focus on three products - tea, cotton and sugar - to show how trade impacts on the well-being of producers.

About us and our partners

Traidcraft Exchange is the UK's only development charity specialising in making trade work for the poor. We work with small scale producers in developing countries to improve their lives through successfully trading the products they grow and make. An important part of our work is to influence international trade rules and practices, working with government, businesses and institutions to help them understand and improve the impact they have on the world's poor.

The Fairtrade Foundation is the independent non-profit organisation that licenses use of the FAIRTRADE Mark on products in the UK in accordance with internationally agreed Fairtrade standards. The Foundation was established in 1992 by CAFOD, Christian AID, Oxfam, Traidcraft, the World Development Movement, and the National Federation of Women's Institutes. The Foundation is the UK member of Fairtrade Labelling Organisations International (FLO), which unites 21 labelling initiatives across Europe, Japan, North America, Mexico and Australia/New Zealand as well as networks of producer organisations from Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Fairtrade Foundation's vision is of a world in which justice and sustainable development are at the heart of trade structures and practices so that everyone, through their work, can maintain a decent and dignified livelihood and develop their full potential. To achieve this vision, Fairtrade seeks to transform trading structures and practices in favour of the poor and disadvantaged. By facilitating trading partnerships based on equity and transparency, Fairtrade contributes to sustainable development for marginalised producers, workers and their communities. Through demonstration of alternatives to conventional trade and other forms of advocacy, the Fairtrade movement empowers citizens to campaign for an international trade system based on justice and fairness.
